Description

These Halloween Spider Mini Pizzas are a fun and easy party snack made with refrigerated pizza dough or flaky biscuit dough, topped with pizza sauce, melted cheese, and spooky spider decorations. They're perfect for Halloween parties, family movie nights, or letting kids decorate their own festive pizzas.

Ingredients
    Pizza Base
  • 13.8 oz refrigerated pizza dough or 16.3 oz refrigerated flaky biscuit dough
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp all purpose flour
  • Sauce
  • 3/4 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Cheese
  • 1 3/4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • Spider Decorations
  • 8 black olives
  • 2 tbsp sliced pepperoni, optional
  • 2 tbsp thinly sliced mushrooms, optional
  • 2 tbsp cooked sausage pieces, optional
  • 1/4 small red bell pepper, thinly sliced, optional
Instructions
    Prepare the Oven
  1. 1
Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Lightly dust the work surface with flour if needed. This helps prevent the dough from sticking and makes it easier to shape.
  2. Shape the Dough
  3. 2
Roll out the refrigerated pizza dough and cut out 8 circles using a 4 to 5 inch cookie cutter or a drinking glass. If using biscuit dough, gently flatten each biscuit into a circle about 4 inches wide. Arrange the rounds on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
  4. Add the Sauce
  5. 3
In a small bowl, stir together the pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and crushed red pepper flakes if using. Spread a thin, even layer over each dough round, leaving about 1/4 inch around the edges for the crust. The sauce should look smooth and evenly coated.
  6. Top with Cheese
  7. 4
Sprinkle the mozzarella and provolone evenly over each pizza. Cover the sauce without piling the cheese too high, allowing the spider decorations to remain visible after baking.
  8. Create the Spider Decorations
  9. 5
Slice the olives in half lengthwise to make the spider bodies. Cut additional olive halves into thin strips for the legs. Arrange the spiders on top of each pizza. If using pepperoni, mushrooms, sausage, or bell peppers instead of olives, arrange them in the same spider shape.
  10. Bake the Pizzas
  11. 6
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the crust is golden around the edges and the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly browned. The pizzas should feel firm underneath and the cheese should be fully melted.
  12. Cool and Serve
  13. 7
Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the mini pizzas to cool for about 3 minutes before serving. This short cooling time helps the cheese set slightly, making the pizzas easier to handle.
Note

Store leftover mini pizzas in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheat in a 350°F oven for 5 to 7 minutes or in an air fryer for 3 to 4 minutes until warmed through and the cheese is melted.

If the dough springs back while shaping, let it rest for 5 minutes before trying again. This helps it relax and become easier to work with.

For crispier crusts, avoid using too much sauce, as excess moisture can make the centers soft.

Both refrigerated pizza dough and flaky biscuit dough work well. Pizza dough creates a crispier crust, while biscuit dough produces a softer, more tender bite.
