Instructions

Prepare the Seasoning Mixture

  1. Add the canola oil, melted butter, ranch seasoning mix, garlic powder, onion powder, dried dill, and black pepper to a large mixing bowl or large zip-top bag. Stir or shake until the mixture looks smooth and fully combined with no dry seasoning pockets remaining.

Coat the Pretzels

  1. Add the pretzels to the bowl or bag and gently toss until evenly coated. Make sure all the pretzels are lightly covered with the seasoning mixture so the flavor spreads evenly during baking. The pretzels may look slightly oily at first, this is normal.

Chill the Pretzels

  1. Let the coated pretzels rest for 30 minutes in the mixing bowl or sealed bag. This gives the seasoning time to absorb into the pretzels and helps the flavor develop more evenly.

Arrange on the Baking Sheet

  1. Preheat the oven to 275 F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the pretzels into an even layer. A little overlapping is fine, but keeping them mostly spread out helps them bake evenly and become crisp.

Bake the Pretzels

  1. Bake the pretzels for about 20 minutes, stirring once halfway through baking with a spatula. The pretzels should smell fragrant and look lightly golden when finished. The seasoning will appear slightly toasted.

Cool Before Serving

  1. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the pretzels to cool completely on the pan. They will continue to crisp as they cool. Once cooled, transfer them to a serving bowl or airtight container.

Note

Store the pretzels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.

If the pretzels soften slightly after storing, place them back on a baking sheet and warm them in a 250 F oven for 5 minutes.

Mini pretzel twists work best because they hold the seasoning well and stay crunchy after baking.

Stirring halfway through baking helps prevent overly dark edges and keeps the seasoning evenly distributed.
